Welcome to Ash class, where you will find Mrs Stevens, the class teacher, along with Mr Gumbs, Miss Durham and Mrs Elliot. We have a lot of fun in Ash class and try to do lots of our learning in a practical way so that the children are engaged and enjoy learning.
We get better at reading and writing by learning great texts, such as The Papaya That Spoke and having lots of fun with them. Sometimes we act them out or create a puppet theatre. We also use the Read, Write Inc programme to develop our reading and writing.
This academic year our topics will focus on rainforests, Victorians, the circus, Europe, the seaside and we will learn about a particular author.
As well as all this, we have lots of opportunities for practical learning such as cooking, Jiu Jitsu and football. We also go out of school to learn as much as possible and this includes orienteering, high ropes and mountain biking.
